Buenos Aires Weathered Doors and Windows Black and White Photography
Glazed Double Doors Frame Two Narrow Central Windows
I photographed this facade while walking the streets of Buenos Aires, watching for the smaller architectural details that make a city worth exploring. Two sets of double doors stand on either side of a pair of narrow windows. From a distance, the arrangement is almost symmetrical; closer inspection reveals differences in the panes, frames and worn surfaces.
The repeated rectangles are what hold my attention. Small panes divide the upper door sections and the tall windows, with darker glass above and paler areas below. The door panels near the ground create larger shapes, giving the composition a change in scale. I like how the brick at both edges encloses the central plaster wall, setting its horizontal pattern against the many vertical lines of the openings. Cracks and marks in the plaster interrupt that order without hiding it.
Black and white brings out the contrast between the dark upper glass, weathered wood and lighter wall. Shadows add another layer across the frames, while the close view leaves the surrounding street outside the photograph. My eye moves from one door to the other, then returns to the two central windows and the narrow spaces between them. What initially looks like a repeated design becomes a collection of individual details. The photograph keeps that clear overall structure while leaving its wear and small variations visible.

About My Fine Art Photography
Every photograph in my collection comes from my own travels, explorations, and years behind the camera.
I create my work as photographic art rather than mass-produced decoration. From street portraits and abandoned places to landscapes, architecture, and the unusual subjects I discover along the way, each image begins with something that made me stop and look.
My photographs are available in multiple sizes so the same image can work in anything from an intimate wall space to a large statement installation.
